Singer Cher has a birthday and announces a biopic on the way

Today Cher is 75 years old, and if that were little cause for celebration, the singer has announced via Twitter that work has begun on the biopic about her life. The production company that will assume the project will be Universal and to write it they have chosen one of the best living screenwriters that exist, Eric Roth. The writer won an Oscar for best screenplay for Forrest Gump in 1994 and recently signed the plots for the long-awaited Dune and the new collaboration between Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese, Killers of the Flower Moon. But Roth also has experience in the more musical genre because in 2019 he wrote the story of A Star is Born of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, for which he was again nominated. Aside from her talent, this may be one of the main reasons for the choice that led Mamma Mia! Producers Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman to cast Roth, but what period of the singer’s life will the film cover? ? Much of the information in an announcement that occurred today is unknown, just the text of the singer herself that said: “Vale Universal is making a biographical film with my friends Judy Craymer, Gary Goetzman, they produced Mamma Mia, and my dear friend of 4 years and Oscar winner Erich Roth is going to write it! Forrest Gump, A Star Is Born, Suspect. To name one of her films. ”An iconic multi-talented artist Cher is one of those artists in whom you don’t know whether to say they are singers or actresses, because even though she has performed both professions, she manages to stand out in both. They started out as the duo of Sonny & Cher where in addition to composing catchy songs they ended up becoming a television icon thanks to The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour.In the 80s, having already conquered the small screen, he began a journey through the cinema generating a totally blockbuster response in each of the productions where he appeared. Oscar for Hechizo de Luna with Nicolas Cage raised her to the highest category in the world of acting. We have recently seen her in the second part of Mamma Mia in 2018 and in Burlesque in 2010. Will she appear in her own biopic? Will it be a film about his way to stardom on television or will it narrate his entire life? The only certainty is that there is no better birthday present than announcing a project so desired by its fans.
