Santorini
The Greek parts of the movie Traveling Pants II were filmed on the island of Santorini. Scenes were filmed in the village of Oia, in the port of Ammoudi, and in rock formations and other beautiful places on the island.
However, the official list of Alcon Entertainment locations only indicates Greek locations in Europe. But parts of the movie are supposedly set in Turkey. The Turkish places are actually filmed in Greece; As I suspected from glimpsing an archaeological site in the trailer, it was also filmed in Santorini, although apparently not in Akrotiri, an ancient Minoan city buried in the volcanic explosion of Thira. It looks like an archaeological site created exclusively for the film, although the chamber a character falls into may be an actual room in Akrotiri cut in sequence.
The film is based on the wildly popular young adult books and follows the adventures of the four friends during and after their freshman year of high school.
By the way, Alexis Bledel, who plays Lena in the movie, is not Greek despite a Greek-sounding name; she is Argentine and Mexican American.
