The Skoda Karoq is updated with a more elegant design language, sustainable materials, new technologies and a selection of efficient next-generation EVO engines. Since its launch as the second model in the SUV range in 2017, more than half a million units have been produced , making the little brother of the Kodiaq one of the pillars of the Skoda range . In 2021, it was the brand’s third best-selling model after the brand’s best-seller, the Octavia, and the Kamiq urban SUV.
New design details for the refreshed Karoq include Skoda’s wider, now hexagonal grille, restyled skirts, as well as slimmer front and rear lights with LED technology. As a first, Matrix full-LED technology can now be equipped as an option. Aerodynamics have been improved by more than 9% thanks to a redesigned front apron and a longer rear spoiler. This means that the SUV now has a drag coefficient (cd) of 0.30 and, as a consequence, CO2 emissions have been reduced respectively.
Two new shades are added to the range (Phoenix Orange and Graphite Grey) to offer a total of nine colours. The 17 to 19-inch alloy wheels have been aerodynamically optimized.
The Karoq’s interior look is characterized by new trim and upholstery options, which can be made from sustainable materials if chosen. Additional comfort-enhancing features include upgraded LED ambient lighting, which now also illuminates the rear door trim in one of ten available colours, and the front passenger seat including power adjustment option and memory function, as well as the three-zone Climatronic system.
Also, the Karoq is available in Active, Ambition and Style trim levels, in addition to the Sportline variant.
You can choose between two diesel and three petrol engines that offer power outputs between 81 kW (110 hp) and 140 kW (190 hp). The 2.0 TSI engine with 190 hp is exclusive to the Karoq Sportline and is equipped with all-wheel drive as standard. Meanwhile, the 2.0 TDI has 150 hp and 4×4 drive is optionally offered.
By the end of this year, all Karoqs will feature a digital instrument cluster as standard. Starting from the Ambition trim level, the Virtual Cockpit is optionally offered with a customizable 10.25-inch screen. You can choose between five basic designs, with an additional background specific to the Karoq Sportline model. Smartphones can be paired with the car using Wireless SmartLink technology, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and can also be inductively charged when placed in the Phone Box.
The largest range of state-of-the-art safety and assistance systems, as well as up to nine airbags, guarantee even higher levels of active and passive safety. The Travel Assist system combines the functions of various assistance systems, such as Predictive Cruise Control (PCC), Adaptive Lane Assist Lane Departure Warning Assistant and an improved version of Traffic Sign Recognition.
