Spanish riders who will be in the 2021 MotoGP World Championship: Marc Márquez, Joan Mir, Álex Rins …

The MotoGP World Championship is about to begin and it will do so with nine Spanish riders on the grid. Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda), Joan Mir (Suzuki), Maverick Viñales (Yamaha), Álex Rins (Yamaha), Pol Espargaró (Yamaha), Álex Márquez (LCR Honda), Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Iker Lecuona (Tech3 KTM) and Jorge Martín (Pramac Racing) will represent Spain in the premier class in 2021. On March 28 they will all start at the Qatar GP in a season that promises to be exciting. After Tito Rabat’s departure for the World Superbike Championship Spain lost one of its drivers, and his presence on the grid was reduced to eight. But that place has been occupied by Jorge Martín, who has made the leap to MotoGP after two years in Moto2. The Madrid rider will race with Pramac Racing in his premiere in the premier class, after finishing fifth in the Moto2 World Championship, so Spain will continue to have nine riders on the grid, with several of them among the main candidates to be champions. Joan Mir defends the title won last year in the absence of a Marc Márquez who is almost recovered from his injury to the humerus in his right arm, and could reappear in the first grand prix of the season. As always, the ilerdense is the great favorite and, therefore, will be the rival to beat. The Honda wants to return to lead his team to the top after last year’s failure. This season he will have a new partner, Pol Espargaró, since Álex Márquez will race with the satellite bike. The youngest of the Espargaró brothers could also be in that championship fight. Another of the Spaniards who, like every year, is called to fight with the greats for victories in the great prizes and for the title of MotoGP champion is Maverick Viñales.Nor should we forget Álex Rins, who in the last year he already fought with his teammate for the World Cup and in the end he signed a historic third place. What is clear is that Spain is the main favorite to win a new title in the premier category of motorcycling. Since Jorge Lorenzo won in 2010 only Casey Stoner (2011) has been able to break the Spanish dominance in MotoGP. Since then all the winners have been Spanish (2 Lorenzo, 6 Márquez and 1 Mir).
