After a few weeks of intense activity for the hundreds of thousands of university students who have taken the EBAU exams , now it’s time to take stock and start planning for the future. Among the students’ priorities is to find a good job or at least something that is attractive to them and, it seems, that many of them see the Mercadona chain as one of the most attractive destinations to work.
In the study carried out by Merco and Recruiting Erasmus , where hundreds of Spanish university students were consulted, the results show that Mercadona is the most attractive option for the youngest to develop a professional career.
After the supermarket chain, it is followed by Inditex, Google or the e-commerce giant, Amazon.
The study was carried out among more than 8,400 students of different university degrees in the framework of the 4th Edition of Merco Talento Universitario de España, which aims to provide relevant information on the abilities and tastes of university students in their last and penultimate year.
The university students surveyed consider it appropriate to have a salary of about 1,466 euros per month when entering the job market, in addition to preferring a job in large companies instead of working for small companies.
The ranking of the ten favorites
As this study reveals, Mercadona is the favorite and most attractive company for Spanish university students. The stability and security provided by the Levantine supermarket chain is a plus for university students who seek to exit their career and enter the job market.
After Mercadona, Inditex is the second company that most engages university students. The conglomerate of companies created by Amancio Ortega is always looking for talent and workers, offering very favorable working conditions for its workers.
Two tech giants rank 3rd and 4th. Google and Amazon are the most attractive technology companies for Spanish university students.
The top 5 is closed by Banco Santander , being the first in the economic sector to appear on this list.
From position 6 to 10, we find technology, consumption and finance. In 6th place is the beverage multinational Coca-Cola.
It is followed by communication and computing multinationals such as Apple and Microsoft.
In position 9 we find the large Swedish decoration chain, Ikea , which already has a good number of stores in our country and offers good working conditions to its employees.
Finally, the BBVA bank closes the ranking in tenth position.
