Turkey: After the thunderstorm, the weather in Istanbul remains unusually warm
Damaged buildings and blown roofs were reported mainly in GaziosmanpaÅŸa and Kağıthane districts. The storm uprooted trees in the districts of Kartal, Ãœmraniye and Beykoz. Surveillance cameras captured a moment of shock. To see: A tall tree in Beykoz crashes into several cars – a passer-by in front of a supermarket can only escape the impact at the last moment.
After an initial analysis of the damage was initiated, emergency services and cleaners carried out clean-up work throughout the city. According to the Turkish weather service, no further severe storms are expected for the time being after the thunderstorm. As the temperatures are unusually high, the warmest days of the month are now in Istanbul.
In the summer, severe forest fires broke out in Turkey. During a mission in the south of the country, a fire fighting plane crashed. Numerous people were killed in the process. (tvd)
