Star Wars Weekends 2016

Disney magic and the power of the force are generally combined for Star Wars weekends from mid-May to mid-June, but the popular event has been canceled for 2016. The family-friendly fan festival held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formerly Disney- MGM Studios Theme Park) will not be offered due to ongoing plans and construction of the new 14-acre Star Wars- themed land that Disney recently announced.

The good news for Star Wars fans is that they will be able to enjoy the saga at any time, not just a few days a year. However, Star Wars weekends will be missed among Star War fans who planned their vacations around the popular weekends where Disney’s Magic and the Power of the Force combined for a star-studded event.

While all the details of the Star Wars land have yet to be announced, highlights include:

  • Star Wars : Path of the Jedi will feature scenes from the entire Star Wars galaxy, giving anyone new to the Star Wars galaxy a chance to get acquainted with the movies.
  • Jedi Training: Temple Trials – The experience will take youngsters to the secret site of an ancient Jedi temple where they will face off against Darth Vader along with a new villain, Seventh Sister, from the Disney XD series “Star Wars Rebels.”
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and Jedi Training Academy – Star Wars fans can enjoy these adventures all year long.
  • Star Wars Launch Bay features special exhibits and behind-the-scenes visions of treasured memorabilia and large-scale replicas of Star Wars artifacts and opportunities to meet and greet the characters.
  • Unique Collectibles – Star Wars fans will find a treasure trove of exclusive Star Wars memorabilia, from limited edition Disney character figures (dressed in famous Star Wars costumes), trade pins and commemorative posters to apparel, medallions, figures of action and other commemorative items.

Once the Star Wars-themed land becomes a reality, expect to see a gathering of characters “from A to Z” who will roam the streets of the theme park or be abducted in meet-and-greet sessions at special places to visit. take photos. Perhaps the theme park will even bring back the Star Wars parade that will feature Star Wars celebrities from time to time.

During Star Wars weekends, guests were encouraged to join in the fun by dressing up in their favorite Star Wars-inspired outfits and costumes. Whether that will continue remains to be seen. Either way, expect most of the event activities to be included in regular admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park.
