Temperatures of up to 35 degrees and tropical nights – the next few days should be really summery.
Offenbach (dpa) – After a slight drop in temperature, summer will start again in the coming week. The German Weather Service (DWD) expects maximum temperatures of more than 35 degrees from Wednesday.
Even at night, the values in the metropolitan areas do not fall below the 20-degree mark, according to the information – which corresponds to a tropical night. “In a somewhat more drastic way, one could say that summer is rising to its first heat wave,” said a DWD meteorologist in Offenbach on Saturday.
The reason for the renewed change in weather is high “Yona”, which not only gives Germany a heat surge, but also a lot of sun. According to the DWD, temperatures of more than 30 degrees will be reached on the Moselle and Saar and near the Rhine on Monday. In addition, there is only a weak to moderate wind. On Tuesday it is mostly friendly and dry in the north and in the center, and mostly sunny in the south. In the west and southwest, 30 to 32 degrees are reached, in the north by 22 degrees.
