Sylvester Stallone shows the teaser poster for "Rocky vs Drago"

The original Rocky movie has a curious story behind its conception. When Sylvester Stallone was practically bankrupt, in a bar he saw a boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner in 1975. The latter was an unknown fighter on whom nobody bet anything and who ended up with 23 stitches holding on until the end against the champion, does history sound like anything to you? Indeed, Stallone would come home, write the first draft, and offer it to Metro Goldwyn Mayer on the condition that he himself step into the ring of fiction to interpret it. The following year, Rocky would triumph at the Oscars and would become one of the longest-running first franchises on celluloid. The other installments were deforming and stretching the original concept, but seeing a new boxer movie was already a tradition for Americans. Rocky 2, 3 and 4 were directed by the actor and now, he is preparing a director’s cut for the latter, a review of his fight that staged the cold war on the ring, Rocky vs. Drago. Stallone had planned to release this new review coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the original film, last Christmas and yet once again the pandemic crossed over into our most nostalgic illusions. The actor seems very excited about this new vision, so much so that he just released the first teaser poster for Rocky vs Drago. We will have to wait and see if it ends up being projected on the big screen, something that would not be strange considering the fashion of reruns such as those of the recent Lord of the Rings trilogy or on the contrary, Amazon may have something to say after having acquired the MGM.@officialslystallone In this director’s cut there will be more footage of the Apollo Creed character and combat with the all-powerful Ivan Drago. The director has also pulled scissors with the Sico robot, which is true that it looks somewhat outdated and ridiculous. To the image accompanying the poster, Stallone wrote: “Rocky vs. Drago !!! It will arrive very soon. The scoop will be in Philadelphia, something that is going to be fantastic. “
