It seems incredible how little we knew a year ago and how much we are learning every day about the coronavirus. We have been able to know that pregnant women who have had Covid-19 transfer antibodies of the disease to their babies through the placenta, but we did not know how long that protection lasts once the baby is born.
We still do not know all the details about how the new coronavirus behaves, and scientists are looking at ways to combat it, including more than 100 projects underway around the world to develop a vaccine.
There are many doubts that arise around the new coronavirus (COVID-19). We have already talked about how the coronavirus affects babies and children, in whom fortunately the infection is mild, what happens in pregnancy, and another question that we want to clear is related to breastfeeding. What happens if a mom is infected with coronavirus and breastfeeds her baby? Is there a risk of transmission?
