A recent study by the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) together with the University of Adelaide (Australia) confirms this need, stating that the reintroduction programs of the species will help triple the current population of 300 specimens. It also warns that, if this precautionary action is not carried out, the lynx could be extinct in 50 years.
