The World Economic Forum has released its latest list of lThe ten most promising tech trendsthat couldcontribute to sustainable growth in the coming decadesand, at the same time, make history. These ten emerging technologies include:OnLine Electric Vehicles (OLEV), automobiles that work by means of coils located in the lower part that receive energy from an electromagnetic field from the wiring installed in the pavement. The wireless current also charges an additional battery used to power the vehicle when it is out of range. These automobiles nthey require only a fifth of the battery capacity of a standard electric carand reach transmission efficiencies above 80%. They are undergoing road tests in Seoul, South Korea.

On the other hand, the ranking includes3-D printing, a technology that could revolutionize the economy of manufacturing if the objects we acquire are “printed at home” in a device that deposits the raw material layer by layer, such as an injection printer, although in this case they would be plastics, metals, etc. . Even food delivery could be ordered on a 3-D food printer. The savings in infrastructure and transport that the implementation of this technology would entail would be enormous.

The list also includesself-healing materialswhen fractured or corrupted, the conversion of thecarbon dioxide in fuel, the use oforganic materials like polymersTo create electronic devices, the rfourth generation nuclear reactorsand advanced water purification.

In the health field, the report highlights three technologies: nanoscale engineering for drug delivery, remote control by sensors of vital functions of our body –such as heart rate or blood sugar and oxygen levels – and the development of genomic proteins toimprove nutrition and health at the molecular level.
