There are 49 rooms, each made special by unique elements ranging from exposed wooden beams to handcrafted stucco.

Variable mattresses ensure a good night’s sleep, while high-tech amenities include a Bang & Olufsen entertainment system and a TV built into the bathroom mirror. The magnificent Penthouse Suite features an outdoor terrace with stunning rooftop views. Breakfast is included, but there are also several restaurants and bars to choose from. “Budget” is something of a strange concept in Zürich, which is notoriously expensive, so the best way to stay cheap is to find hostel accommodation. Best Budget Hostel is a quiet and private option north of the city center. The service is friendly, the rooms are clean, and public transport links connect you to the center of Zurich in about 15 minutes. Recently redecorated in a quirky Pop Art style, the seven rooms include towels, flat-screen TVs, high-speed Wi-Fi, and central heating.

The double rooms share a bathroom, but if you have a few Swiss francs to spare, you can upgrade to a large double room with a private bathroom. A communal kitchen saves you money by stocking yourself up, while the living room is a great place to make new friends. The hostel is also noted for its large garden, as well as useful services such as laundry, luggage storage, and inexpensive on-site parking.
