The Boston Tree, located on Boston Common, is a beautiful fir Christmas tree. It has been received as a gift from Nova Scotia each year and commemorates the relationship between the people of Boston and Halifax after the 1917 Halifax Big Bang.

The Tree Lighting is a large annual event that takes place in late November, where the entire Common is illuminated, including the trees, the Frog Pond skating rink, and more. On that day, you can also see fireworks and the free ice show, the Frog Pond Skating Spectacular.
