The Wildlife Photo of the Year photography contest is one of the most prestigious photography contests in the world in which we contemplate the patience, ingenuity and talent of photographers who spend their time immersed in wildlife to offer us the most incredible snapshots and revealing of the natural world.
The finalists are selected by some of the best photographers in the world (the jury is made up of a panel of recognized professionals in the industry) and selected for their creativity, their art and their technical complexity.
More than 50,000 photos are submitted each year, from 92 countries around the world .
Although hurricanes and wildfires ravage much of the globe, the natural world is still full of beauty and these images are a perfect reminder of this beauty.
One of the winning photographs of the Wildlife Photografer of the Year award shows the pollution that devastates the seas around the world, showing what we are doing to our oceans. The photographer titled the snapshot ‘Sewage Surfer’ and it shows us a seahorse with its tail curled up on an ear stick. Justin Hofman, the author of the photo, was on Sumbawa Island, Indonesia, diving in waters increasingly full of plastic and other elements that do not belong in this environment. “What kind of future are we creating?” Asks the author.
Among the rest of the wonderful photographs we will find the protagonists an Arctic fox, a seal pup, a squirrel, clown fish, a bald eagle or American eagle, a small Sumatran tiger or the aforementioned seahorse.
A prominent place deserves the snapshot of the rescue of the gorilla Pikin captured by photographer Jo-Anne McArthur.
The exhibition takes place every year at the Natural History Museum in London. H e here the best photographs of nature.
