The electrified strategy of Groupe PSA

However, with a view to next year 2020, the group has decided to reinforce this commitment by presenting its electrification strategy based on two multi-energy platforms CMP and EMP2, which allow it to respond to the needs of all types of customers. This strategy ranges from the industrial process, to the product offer, through a wide catalog of services.

Already throughout this year 2019, 100% of the group’s launches have incorporated an electrified version that coexists with efficient Euro 6 diesel engines, so that the entire range will be electrified in 2025. All this is possible thanks to the platforms flexible multi-energy, which allow the manufacture of gasoline, diesel, 100% electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the same assembly line. An approach that allows, undoubtedly, a rapid adaptation of the production of the Groupe PSA plants to the possible changes that may be generated in the market.

The intention of the company is to offer the client the ability to choose the type of technology that best suits both their tastes and needs. In addition, users who choose to join electrification have the option of making this choice without giving up other aspects such as design, performance, equipment, comfort or interior space, which are the same regardless of the type of energy used. use.

The strategy is specified in nine electrified models , which have the label 0 of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT): the 100% electric Peugeot e-208 and e-2008, DS 3 Crossback E-Tense and Opel Corsa-e; and the plug-in hybrids Peugeot 3008 Hybrid, Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid, DS 7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4 and Opel Grandland X Hybrid.

Likewise, Groupe PSA’s strategy also affects many other fields, such as batteries, or the wide range of services offered to customers through the Free2Move mobility brand, with the intention of responding to the needs of use of the vehicle and the necessary adaptation to the energy transition in the car.
