Less than a year after its commercial launch in Spain, the Citroën C5 Aircross can boast of having become a sales success, with more than 6,000 orders in our country since then. This innovative SUV has conquered the public for its design, its features and its technological arsenal, as well as its infinite customization possibilities. A deserved success that contributes to that of the rest of the Citroën range , which reaches a market share of 7.15% in Spain in the accumulated from January to August, which translates into the best result of the last five years. The French manufacturer also achieves leadership in the commercial vehicle market and several of its made in Spain models, such as the new Berlingo or the C-Elysée, head their respective segments.
The new C5 Aircross, despite being faithful to the characteristics that define SUVs such as 230mm ground clearance and large 720mm diameter wheels, still maintains its own DNA, thus becoming a great alternative in this segment. It also incorporates key elements in the brand’s identity, such as the Airbumps, with a touch of color, and multiple customization possibilities, both in the exterior and interior design. In addition, technologically, the model is one step ahead thanks to the 20 driving assistance functions, in addition to the 6 technologies designed to optimize connectivity, which include and that, like Highway Driver Assist, anticipate the performance of the autonomous vehicles.
All these characteristics make it an SUV prepared for the new idea of mobility that society is gradually internalizing and, as a consequence, for the nearest future. In fact, in 2020, this model will be incorporated into Citroën’s electrification strategy with the launch of a plug-in hybrid version that will rank among the most environmentally friendly alternatives in its category. The firm has set itself the goal of incorporating electrified versions in 80% of its range in 2023, until extending them to its entire range of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in 2025.
