The 'magic' of the DS AIR air conditioning system

Owning a DS is much more than having a vehicle or a mobility ‘object’, it is luxury, quality and innovation. And that innovation that it pursues is linked to the present. Or what is the same. After the coronavirus pandemic we have become much more aware of the quality of the air we breathe. Therefore, and it is no coincidence, the French premium vehicle brand, through its latest model presented, the DS 4, proposes two exclusive and innovative systems with which to increase the on-board experience , both on long trips and on long journeys. daily journeys.

First of all, feeling part of the vehicle, in connection with it, is vital for safe and calm journeys. Therefore, in addition to the new DS AIR, this DS model also incorporates cutting-edge technology such as the DS Iris System or the DS Extended Head-Up Display with augmented reality. Specifically, the air conditioning system incorporates a central aerator in which the fins are not visible: a ‘magic’ possible thanks to a new physical interface from which the main functions of the system are accessed . In practice, two sliders at both ends of the interface direct the air flows by orienting them horizontally and vertically, as in a traditional aerator. The innovation, however, is subtly hidden behind the instrumentation, with a much more complex invisible system that creates two completely different air vortices without sacrificing the functionality expected of any advanced climate control system. Substantially, the air flow diverters have been moved to the rear of the outlets, integrated in the center of the dashboard, so that the visible surface of the vents has been reduced as much as possible.

But this is not the only novelty , as the new QUICK LAUNCH fast-acting function allows the passenger compartment to be heated or cooled more quickly. The system adapts to the outside temperature so that, in low temperature conditions, the heating of the seats and the steering wheel (if the car has them) is activated, while the exterior mirrors are demisted.
