The reform that will come in the next Golden Globes

All the major awards in the world of the arts have to be modernized at some point, proof of this are the Oscars and the opening they have been making on the membership of The Academy for greater diversity for several years. After several controversies, surely the Golden Globes will also change part of their organization, if what they want is to maintain the respect they have always enjoyed. For this reason, foreign press groups have approved to reform the operation of the awards known as the “anteroom of the Oscars.” Recently, the Golden Globes have been full of controversy since the Los Angeles Times (a medium that has already released the colors of the Oscar) published an article in which he criticized a whole series of favoritism and corruption on the part of the organization. Among other things, the post noted that there were only 87 members and that none of them were of a race other than the western white. To make matters worse, gifts and promotional trips associated with certain works that should be valued at the gala were discovered.The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, commonly known by the acronym HFPA is the group that is responsible for covering all the news of the film industry in the United States for publications arriving outside the country. The Hollywood Reporter noted that some relevant changes have already been made, including structural modifications to the organization that have been approved by the HFPA. The order of the association was such that they threatened with total resignation if the series of proposed reforms were not accepted, among other things to wash the image of the foreign press in the North American territory, which is responsible for giving the Globes of gold.Changes within the Golden Globes: The organization, in a vote (rejected by only three members) promised to incorporate 20 new members with attention to diversity, especially blacks. They will also cease to be a hermetic organization, since it did not admit new members for several years. They closed in the agreement the increase of affiliates in 50% in the next year and a half. Several important names in Hollywood such as JJ Abrams signed the endorsement of these new requirements for the largest restructuring that the awards have had since their foundation in 1943.
