The sexual tools of chimpanzees.

chimpance-sexual Although the definition of a tool may vary, most scientists agree to recognize as tools inanimate objects, outside the user's body , that are used to alter the environment in some way or to obtain information from it, and that they are modified in their function, form or position.

Since Jane Goodall first observed chimpanzees using grass tools to extract termites in 1960 , around twenty contraptions , some quite complex, have been discovered that these primates use for different purposes. The latest finding, made by scientists at the University of Cambridge, is that males in a group of Tanzanian chimpanzees use sexual tools to attract mates .

Specifically, the observed male chimpanzees beat and broke dry and brittle leaves at the height of their genitals when they had an erection , in order to make noise and attract the gazes of the females towards this part of their bodies. The result was that interested females approached them to mate.
