Alfa Romeo’s Pomigliano d’Arco factory, one of the most advanced industrial facilities in the automotive world historically known as ‘Alfa Sud’, has been chosen to take on the new challenge. In fact, a new assembly line dedicated to the launch of the new Tonale has been built, with cutting-edge technologies and unprecedented levels of automation. The plant was established in 1972 to produce nothing more and nothing less than Alfasud . Since then, more than 5 million vehicles have rolled off its production lines; it is now one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the automotive world. In the last decade, the plant has been completely reorganized; The application of the most efficient manufacturing methods has started a process of continuous improvement that has borne fruit in various recognitions and awards over the years.
A few days before production of the Tonale begins, CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato has visited the plant to meet the team that will produce the latest pre-series vehicles. The visit is part of the monthly meetings that Imparato has held at the plant since his appointment, in each of which he has met with the suppliers involved and the Alfa Romeo team.
