The late summer is still a long time coming: the weekend often begins with partly heavy showers and individual thunderstorms.
Offenbach – The weather in Germany is not exactly late summer for the time being. In the coming days, the Federal Republic will be in the area of influence of the set low “Nick” over Central Europe, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Offenbach.
Moist, cool sea air is brought in from the north, “which results in an unstable and cool weather character”, according to the meteorologists. “Summer temperatures of over 25 degrees are therefore a long way off for the time being.”
Heavy showers and a few thunderstorms
The weekend often begins with strong showers and a few thunderstorms. At the North Sea and in Brandenburg, the sun can also be seen on Saturday. The maximum values are between 15 and 21 degrees, on the Alps in continuous rain at 13 degrees. On the night of Sunday, the precipitation above 2000 meters can come down partly as snow.
On Sunday, thick clouds and heavy rain are to be expected in the western half. Otherwise, with changing to heavy cloud cover, resurgent showers and thunderstorms are in sight. According to the DWD, it stays wet in the Alps, and there is also continuous rain in places. Sunny sections are most likely to be found on the coast. The temperatures on Sunday are a maximum of 15 degrees in rainy regions, up to 21 degrees in the north. dpa
