Max Verstappen achieved pole position for the final race of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix , in which the Formula 1 World Championship title will be resolved, while his rival for the championship, the British Lewis Hamilton , will start second in search of the comeback.

With both tied at 369.5 points in the general classification, the Dutchman, who is looking for his first windup in the 'Great Circus', led the times in Yas Marina (1: 22.109) with 0.371 seconds ahead of the seven-time world champion. Meanwhile, the also British Lando Norris finished the session third.
