Trax Farms is a 630-acre fruit and vegetable farm located 12 miles south of Pittsburgh in Finleyville, PA. It has been in the Trax family since 1814 when Jacob Trax came to the United States from Strasbourg, France. The community features a seasonal farmer’s market and bakery, a lawn and garden center, an antique shop, a wine shop, and more. Trax Farms is not just a favorite with the locals; visitors from all over stop by for the homegrown fruits and vegetables and baked goods.

Choose your own seasonal product

The Trax Farms Market sells fresh fruits and vegetables year-round, with homegrown produce available in the spring, summer and fall. Favorites are fresh asparagus in May; strawberries in June; and black raspberries, red raspberries, blackberries and blueberries in July. July also heralds the start of the sweet corn season. Other homegrown summer produce include melons, peaches, tomatoes, beans, and bell peppers. In the fall, there are white and red potatoes, winter squash, and of course pumpkins.

Trax Farms offers several different crops to choose from, starting with strawberries in June, blueberries in July, and pumpkins during the Fall Harvest Festival in October.

Taste the delicious homemade baked goods and treats

Trax Farms Country Store and Bakery are open year-round offering fresh baked bread and cookies, fudge, jams, jellies, pickles, gravy, barbecue sauce, homemade soup mixes, spices, candy and other gourmet foods unique and kitchen supplies. . At the deli, choose from a variety of cut-to-order meats and cheeses, plus homemade bread puddings, salads, and cheese for a fabulous picnic. Trax also creates gift baskets for any occasion.

Attend seasonal Trax events

Share the harvest season with Trax Farms during fall harvest days. Enjoy the sights and scents of fall with the large cornstarch maze, scenic walks and fall decorations created on the farm. There are loads of pumpkins for sale at the market or take a cart to the pumpkin fields to collect your own. The whole family will enjoy the Rainbow Express train ride, pony rides, pumpkin painting, and a petting zoo. Plus, there’s Kettle Korn, sweet apples, and other fun foods for fall. Fall harvest days are held every weekend through October.

In December, bring the kids to breakfast or lunch with Santa and bring home a freshly cut Christmas tree, wreaths, and decorations. Also visit the flea markets held at Trax Farms in the winter months, along with the winter beer and wine festivals. June brings summer strawberry and wine festivals, and other months feature events like cooking classes and craft shows.

Taste the local fruit from the vine

Trax Farms is a satellite store for Arrowhead Wine Cellars in Pennsylvania. You’ll find 30 or more varieties, from light whites to heady reds, all locally grown on the shores of Lake Erie. If wine isn’t your thing, Trax makes its own sugar-free apple cider and also sells a variety of craft beers.
