Two new Peugeot 308 bodies, with 100% electric versions

Already available in their plug-in hybrid electrified versions, the two new bodies of the 308, the compact saloon and the SW family, will also be available in a 100% electric version from 2023. Peugeot will thus be the first European manufacturer to offer a 100% family electric. The electric 308 and 308 SW have a completely new electric motor that develops 156 hp and has a range of more than 400 kilometers (WLTP cycle), depending on the level of equipment. This double offer is an uncompromising response, perfectly adapted to the needs of the C-segment: the unique appearance of the 308 is combined with the driving pleasure characteristic of Peugeot models and with segment-leading efficiency, with an average consumption of 12.7 kWh. Available in Allure and GT trim levels, the new e-308 and e-308 SW will hit the market consecutively in mid-2023.

Specifically, the design of the new models is rooted both in Peugeot’s DNA and in a dynamic, high-end universe of reference . Its elongated front hood enhances its silhouette, its volumes are sensual and sharp, and the brand’s new logo is proudly displayed in the center of the grille. The general optimization of the architecture favors the use of the interior space. At the front, its daytime light signature in the form of fangs frames the Matrix LED headlights, perfectly integrating the 308 and 308 SW into the Peugeot family, as well as the LED lighting with the three claws on the rear lights. And for the 100% electric versions of the 308 and 308 SW, a new 18-inch aluminum wheel design has been specifically developed. Its aerodynamic efficiency is especially well designed to optimize performance.

Likewise, efficiency has been one of the main focuses of work for the engineers, since the combination of efforts in terms of motor, battery, aerodynamics (optimization of the front and underbody), weight optimization (EMP2 platform) and reduction of friction losses (class A tyres) has made it possible to achieve a remarkably low average energy consumption: 12.7 kWh per 100 km, which is a benchmark among 100% electric vehicles in the C segment.
