Bordeaux – A new variant of the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus has been detected in France. This is a “very rare” form, which is found in the viral strain with the British variant B.1.1.7. should be related, it said from the authorities. The city of Bordeaux is particularly affected. In the Bacalan district, almost 50 people tested positive for the new Corona variant, according to the local health department.
New Corona variant discovered in France

This was announced by Patrick Dehail, medical advisor to the regional health authorities. So far, corona vaccinations in France are limited to people over 50 years of age. Mass tests were also ordered in Bordeaux and the surrounding area to uncover further cases. The new Corona variant has already been identified in northern France, in a region near the capital Paris.
