After almost 10 movies and $ 1.59 billion grossed around the world, it seems that the end of Fast and Furious is entering its last curve. And all this, taking into account that in general the reactions and impressions of a mainstream sector of the critics value it with enthusiasm and that fans flock to each of its premieres. Added to the desire and feeling of family that its faithful cast has, it is strange that an actor like Vin Diesel is clearly thinking of closing the garage and letting the saga breathe definitively.
One cannot talk about Fast and Furious without mentioning Vin Diese l, just as his acting career is inextricable from the fast-paced franchise. Surely both the beginning of the saga and his Pitch black Riddick have been the roles that catapulted him to the top of recognition among the general public. Regardless of the affection that Diesel professes for his film family, he is aware that everything has to come to an end at some point. Both he and Universal Pictures plan that the end of Fast and Furious will come with two more films after F9, which will be released in Spain on July 2.
“I know people are going to feel like it doesn’t have to end, but I think all good things should. There are reasons for an ending. I think this franchise deserves it, “ said Diesel in an interview with the Associated Press. Then the actor himself valued the journey of the saga and that inevitably even a series of films with so much energy need a pause: “This franchise was born from the sidewalk (…) it has already surpassed everyone, other franchises. But the franchise has a soul, and that soul has to rest ”.
Also Justin Lin, the man who will direct the last two and who has already done five, has confirmed the news, saying that the idea of ending Fast and Furious came from a conversation with Vin Diesel : “We got together and Vin said we should think about closing the saga now. F9 is kind of the first movie of the final chapter. We are reconfiguring everything, so that the next two films conclude the incredible journey of these characters. “
Fast and Furious 11 would be the last of the saga, coinciding with its last two installments between 2023 and 2024.
