Some regions of Bavaria are plagued by storms again. The rains are said to be heavier, especially at night. But there is prospect of an easing of the situation.
Munich – In the course of a storm front, thunderstorms occurred and rain showers fell in some parts of Bavaria. The police were initially not aware of any major operations.
The German Weather Service (DWD) warned of further storm-like thunderstorms with heavy rain – especially on Sunday night.
Extreme flash floods are also possible
The focus should therefore be on the Alps and the southern Alpine foothills. Due to heavy rainfall, there could be local flooding, it said. On some rivers, reaching the reporting levels cannot be ruled out, said the flood intelligence service in Bavaria. Extreme flash floods are also possible there.
According to the DWD, clouds and short sunny sections should alternate on Sunday. More showers and thunderstorms are to be expected in the course of the day. Local storms loomed near the Alps. In the night of Monday, the storms should then subside for the time being. dpa
