Weather chaos: experts suddenly predict a temperature explosion

In addition to a violent storm with up to 130 km / h, there will be an extreme temperature high of up to 25 degrees next week, according to weather experts in Germany.

According to the graduate meteorologist Dominik Jung, Germany is in for “stormy times”. In the coming week (week 42), the expert expects heavy gusts of wind “of up to 130 kilometers per hour”, as he explains on wetter.net. But that’s actually not all: Germany expects not only the mega storm, but also an extreme temperature high with a summer day, as reported by * echo24.de.

As early as Monday, the storm will blow hot Sahara air from North Africa directly into Germany *, as reported by * heidelberg24.de. On Tuesday (October 19), according to the meteorologist Jung, regional temperatures of up to 25 degrees are possible. That would then officially be a meteorological summer day – this is classified as a day as soon as the 25 degree mark is exceeded. The meteorologist Jan Schenk from The Weather Channel also says that the impending storm will bring “really warm air” to Germany. Thanks to the “Sahara air”, the temperatures jump up. However, he does not expect the 25 degrees until Wednesday (October 19).

Weather Germany: Sahara air – expert expects temperature explosion

The German Meteorological Service (DWD) expects that Tuesday “only” up to 20 degrees “in lower elevations in western and southwestern Germany and in the foothills of the Alps”. However, this forecast can change at any time until then. For this, the DWD also expects on Wednesday (October 20) and Thursday (October 21) with daily highs of up to 22 degrees.

However, with the almost summery temperatures, it should unfortunately not be predominantly sunny and dry nationwide. On Wednesday, the DWD expects some rain in the north and northwest, there are longer, sunny sections, especially in the south. In addition, it gets windy, with strong gusts of wind at the sea and on higher mountain peaks.

Weather: Suddenly summer – sharp rise in temperature due to Sahara air

According to weather expert Jung, the storm will peak on Thursday (October 21): The NOAA model predicts gusts of up to 100 km / h for northern Germany on Thursday morning. Towards the afternoon it is “widespread very stormy”, and there are “sometimes heavy gusts of wind at lower altitudes.” On the summit, “up to 120 or 130 kilometers per hour” is possible. As soon as the storm hits Germany, temperatures should also drop again.

The high temperatures in the coming week are definitely in stark contrast to the current weather situation with 40 centimeters of fresh snow in the Alps * and the forecasts for the upcoming winter. Because, according to experts, it should be really icy, the reason for this is a possible polar vortex split in the course of winter 2021/2022 *. * echo24.de and * heidelberg24.de are offered by IPPEN.MEDIA.

Our children's graduations mark the end of a stage and remind us how fast...

They say that in raising children the days are long and the years are short, and of course they are right. But perhaps it is especially in these days of school graduations and changes of stage, when we realize it the most.
