What are the cheapest and most expensive cities in Spain to travel to this summer?

Summer begins to be planned in all Spanish homes. Despite the pandemic, the good rate of vaccination, and the decrease in infections little by little, it seems that we will have a summer period more similar to normal than last year. The cities of Spain are preparing to receive tourists from beyond our borders and national tourism that will be much more important this year.

In this sense, the comparison website, Rastreator , has developed a study to find out which cities in Spain are the cheapest to travel to and which are the most expensive to go this summer.

The web has used a simple comparison. An average stay in each city of 7 days and 6 nights has been estimated , in hotels with at least three stars, and located in city centers. Parameters such as car rental, dinners and meals for two or having a coffee or a beer in any bar in the city center were also included.

Cheaper places

According to the study, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the cheapest city in Spain to travel in this summer 2021. Taking into account the previous calculation, the average expenditure per family this summer would be 1200 euros, so Las Palmas would be a 28% cheaper than the rest of Spanish cities.

Behind would be Tenerife and Seville. The average cost in Las Palmas would be located at 346 euros, while in Seville it would be located at 58 euros per night.

These data contrast with the most expensive cities in Spain to travel this summer. For example, the city of Cádiz is the most expensive with an average cost of 120 euros per night to stay . However, in the Andalusian city having a coffee or a beer, or going out to dinner is cheaper than in other places, being 39% below the national average.

Another of the most expensive cities to stay in is Palma de Mallorca, followed by Barcelona and Madrid.

Finally, the comparison website has indicated in its recent study that prices have increased in 2021 compared to the previous year. In 2020, a tough year due to the pandemic, the average cost was around 956 euros per trip, while this year it has increased by more than 250 euros on average for a seven-day trip.

These are the cities from cheapest to most expensive:

1 – Las Palmas

2 – Tenerife

3 – Seville

4 – Alicante

5 – Valencia

6 – Malaga

7 – Madrid

8 – Barcelona

9 – Palma de Mallorca
