Parabolic flights are a type of aviation maneuver by which microgravity conditions are simulated. Diving into a free fall from a building is the closest thing to floating in space . In fact, astronauts who live on the International Space Station, where gravity is 89% of that on the surface of the Earth, do not float because it does not exist there, but because they are constantly falling into the gravitational well that create our planet in the surrounding space. The same thing happens to the Earth, which is falling by orbiting the Sun.
In parabolic flights, a specially designed plane climbs up to 8,000 meters in height and then carries out a progressive descent , so that microgravity conditions are generated that last around 30 seconds. Initially designed for the training of astronauts, today several private companies offer this unique experience for an approximate price of 6,000 euros.
