The most dangerous path in the world is the Caminito del Rey, located in the Gaitanes gorge in Malaga. It is a walkway of about 3 kilometers that is hanging from the inner rock of the canyon , on whose bottom, traveled by the river, it rises up to 100 meters in vertiginously vertical walls.
This step was built at the beginning of the 20th century by the Sociedad Hidroeléctrica del Chorro with a purely practical purpose, so that its operators could access the Gaitanejo and Chorro waterfalls.
The fame of its dangerousness was increased by the state of deterioration in which the neglect of many years had left it. The death of several hikers when crossing it came to wrap the place in a certain black legend and, at the same time, a challenge for many.
Between 2014 and 2015, rehabilitation works have been carried out that make their journey not so risky now. However, it continues to count as the most dangerous trail in the world.
Another trail of these characteristics is found on Mount Hua Shan, in Shaanxi (China) . Walking its poor and narrow wooden walkway, clinging only to a chain, has the compensation of contemplating one of the most beautiful panoramas in China. Ah!
