Smartphones, as we commonly call smart phones , have long become part of our lives. Today it would be extremely difficult for us to imagine ourselves doing some of the daily activities without being able to have them to solve them.
However, that does not mean that we know how smart mobile phones work, and for that reason is that, in the following lines, we will try to briefly review it.
First of all, it should be clarified that smartphones represent a second generation of mobile telephony , since these devices act more like pocket computers than simple devices to allow us to make calls with our acquaintances.

Its origin
The origin of smartphones as we think of them right now is in PDAs, among which the Palm was the one that acquired the greatest fame , as it contained support for office formats such as Word or Excel. Later, Blackberry introduced the first mobile operating systems.
However, it would not be until the appearance of the first iPhone in history that we would have a definitive approach to the possibilities of use that smartphones give us, starting the war that Apple and Google maintain today, with their infinite Android manufacturers.
Smartphone operation
A smartphone at this point works from an operating ecosystem, through which the different applications are executed, which developers launch on the market trying to meet the needs of productivity, entertainment and communication , as the case may be.
With the consequent improvement in each of the hardware pieces that smartphones incorporate, these developers can optimize the apps to solve more and more questions, to the point of having replaced, thanks to them, almost any old desktop element.
But, on the other hand, it would be impossible to understand the preponderant role of smartphones without taking into account how far the networks have evolved, both home and mobile , which are what keep us connected almost anywhere, accessing our favorite content.
In this sense, the beginning of the deployment of 5G networks in much of the world, augurs a near future in which mobiles are even more important, if this is possible.
