What is the passenger location form? All about the form to travel abroad

On July 1, the aforementioned “Covid passport” or Covid Green Pass of the European Union formally entered into force, which it seems that it could soon be reformulated in many countries due to the spread of the delta variant. However, in some countries this is not enough and the Passenger Location Form (PLF) is also required . A tracking form that has been in place for a long time but is now when summer has arrived when they are very surprised to have to request it and present it when traveling.

This is a specific form, which can be completed directly online from the dedicated website, to travel to some foreign countries as is the case for example in Italy, while for other countries it is necessary to rely on national platforms.

In our country, for example, it is required of those who arrive from abroad since August 2020. To fill it out, you must enter the page https://spth.gob.es/, and it can only be submitted electronically and not in paper format

Which countries request the Passenger Location Form (PLF)?

The passenger location form is not only necessary for those who travel from abroad to Spain but we have to present it ourselves if we want to travel to countries such as Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Czech Republic, United Kingdom or Slovakia .

As is the case with the «Covid passport», the form is necessary to travel by air, sea and land with the exception of Cyprus, Portugal, Slovakia and our own country that require it only for air travel, while Ireland has it made necessary only for air and sea travel.

How does the Passenger Location Form work?

In practical terms, it is a module that allows local health authorities to trace the contacts of the positive and, in fact, contains all the data of the travelers. At the end of the registration phase, the system will send the certificate in PDF format by email, complete with a QR code that we must show to the authorities when we are going to travel and they ask for it.

In Spain it must be completed both by foreign tourists entering our country and by those returning from a trip from abroad.
