The most famous doll in the world, Barbie, was born on March 9, 1957 by the hand of the Mattel company. Its debut in society took place in New York City during the "American Toy Fair ." In her 'debut', Barbie wore a blonde hairstyle from the 60s, with a swimsuit that simulated the skin of a zebra.

Since it was put on sale, more than 1,000 million units have been sold around the world that have delighted children and adults, making it a true icon of toys.

As a curiosity, Bettina Dorfmann from Düsseldorf (Germany), has the Guinness record for the largest collection of Barbies in the world, with more than 15,000 different dolls valued at more than 200,000 euros.
