We all love the Yakuza saga. Sega has created a huge franchise, full of installments and spin-offs that give us great insight into the Japanese underworld. However, there is a more modest, but visually impressive alternative.
From the hand of the creator of The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa and Arrest of a Stone Buddha comes Fading Afternoon , the title in which we will control a yakuza trying not to make the mistakes that sentenced him to jail again. Its launch is scheduled for sometime in 2022 on PC , via Steam.
We will control Seiji Maruyama , a member of the yakuza who has come out of his confinement behind bars. Nicknamed as Gozuki, he will go back to his old ways within the criminal network, but it will be our decision to make him continue living these kinds of situations or to withdraw completely.
That is why we will have multiple endings depending on the direction we take during the story. At the mechanical level we find a manual beat ’em up , in which we can distribute good fire to everyone who crosses us, either with punches, kicks, katanas or firearms.
There will also be room for relaxation, with a good variety of mini-games such as going fishing. In turn, the city will be free to explore and learn all its secrets.
