2016 Memphis Racing Schedule

The highlight of the Memphis racing calendar for 2016 will have the Bluff City racers ready for a big year.

Hill and Dale 8 Miler

The Hill and Dale 8 Miler will be on January 2 in Millington. The 37th Annual Hill and Dale 8 Miler covers a variety of terrain throughout Meeman Shelby Forest State Park near Millington. The race starts at 11 am. It begins and ends near Vault 6 with registration at the Recreation Lodge. The race is on paved roads and paths.

Memphis Winter Off-Road Race Series

The Memphis Runners Track Club presents its annual off-road racing series with 3K, 5K, 8K and 10K races beginning January 10 with a 3K race at 2 p.m. at Overton Park, starting and ending near Veteran’s Memorial. Square. The 5K run is Jan. 24 at 2pm at Nesbit Park in Bartlett (aka Stanky Creek). 8K is February 21 at 2 pm at Nesbit Park. The 10K is February 28 at 2 pm at Shelby Farms Park. Participants can register for the entire series or individual races.

Overton Park 10K Trail Race

The fifth annual Overton Park 10K Trail Race will be on January 30 at 8 am on January 30. The race will take place entirely on the trails of the park. The race begins and ends at the Overton Park Golf Clubhouse.

Valentine 10K and 5K

The annual Bartlett Parks & Recreation 10K and 5K Valentine’s Day runs will be held on February 13 at 9 am at Bartlett Baptist Church. Participants can run individually or in a love couple division.

Germantown Half Marathon y Mayor’s Cup 5K

The annual Germantown Half Marathon and 5K Major Cup benefiting Special Olympics will be on March 13 at 7:30 am. The start and finish lines are at Germantown Athletic Club.

Whispering Woods & Twigs Half Marathon and 5K

The Whispering Woods & Twigs Half Marathon and 5K will be at Olive Branch in Whispering Woods on April 2 at 8 a.m.

The great amazing race of Memphis

The Great Amazing Race is an adventure and obstacle course that covers distances of 5K or 1 mile. The race will be on April 3 at WJ Freeman Park in Bartlett with a wave start starting at 4 pm

Oak Hall Run para St. Jude

Oak Hall’s annual run for St. Jude will be May 1 at 3 pm The 3-mile course begins at the main doors of Oak Hall and loops around the area.

Mid-South Mud Run 5K

The Mid-South Mud Run 5K will be on May 14 at 9 am at Millington at Navy Lake.

Zoom Through Zoo 4 Miler

The annual Zoom Through the Zoo 4 Miler takes place at the Memphis Zoo on May 26.

Great American River Run

The Great American River Run is the latest addition to the annual Memphis International Festival in May. The event will feature a half marathon and 5 km on May 28 at 8 am with a race track showing the Mississippi River.

Harbortown 5K

Harbortown’s annual 5K 1 mile race for runners 12 and under is June 3 in the Harbortown neighborhood of Mud Island. The fun run starts at 6 p.m. and the 5K starts at 7 p.m.

La Marina 10 Nautical Miler

The Navy 10 Nautical Miler covers 10 nautical miles at the Mid-South Naval Support Activity in Millington on June 5 at 6 a.m.

Gibson Guitar 5K

The annual Gibson Guitar 5K is June 11 at 7 pm at the Gibson Guitar Factory in downtown Memphis.

Memphis Stars and Stripes 5K

The 4th of July celebration kicks off with the Memphis Stars and Stripes 5K at Tiger Lane on July 3 at 7 p.m.

Elvis 5K

The annual Elvis Elvis 5K week will be August 13 at Graceland Mansion.

Cooper Young Festival 4 Miler

The Cooper Young Festival 4 Miler is the Friday before the annual Cooper Young Festival.
