Los Angeles – Rudy Giuliani is following in Donald Trump’s footsteps. The former lawyer for the elected US President was honored twice at this year’s Razzie Awards (Golden Raspberry) for his involuntary role in “Borat Anschluss Movie Film” by Sacha Baron Cohen. Trump received the award in 2019 for his unwanted appearances in the documentaries “Fahrenheit 11/9” and “Death of a Nation”.
The Golden Raspberry is traditionally presented before the Oscars, but instead of excellent film work, the award goes to particularly bad appearances, productions and films. Rudy Giuliani won the award for the worst supporting role and his participation in the worst scene that year.
Rudy Giuliani: Trump attorney is awarded for role in “Borat”
Donald Trump’s attorney fell for Sacha Baron Cohen in the sequel to his film “Borat”. Rudy Giuliani was asked by an alleged journalist from Kazakhstan for an interview in a hotel room. Maria Bakalova, herself nominated for an Oscar, played the reporter and immediately began flirting with Giuliani. He responded to the advances. The story ended with Giuliani and Bakalova in an adjoining room where the former mayor of New York was lying on the bed, zipping his pants. Giuliani himself then asserted that he had only straightened his shirt.

Due to the ongoing corona pandemic in the USA, this year’s Razzie Awards were announced as a virtual event. Traditionally, the honored persons are invited. It is highly doubtful whether Rudy Giuliani would have accepted such an invitation. Donald Trump ignored the award at the time and stayed away from the event.

In addition to Rudy Giuliani, other prominent actresses and actors were honored. Kate Hudson received the award for the worst female lead with her performance “Music”. With three raspberries, the film became the “most successful” flick of this year’s Razzie Awards.
Another old friend of Donald Trump also received two awards: Mike Lindell. With “Absolute Proof”, the founder of the online retailer “MyPillow” produced a kind of documentary about the alleged election fraud in 2020, according to which a Chinese cyber attack stole Trump’s election and blamed it on Joe Biden. His film was voted worst ever and his performance as the worst leading role.
