The International Association of Professional Birth Photographers (International Association of Professional Birth Photographers) made up of more than 1,100 specialized photographers in 52 countries has awarded its 2020 Annual Awards and has released the best birth photos of 2020.
We already showed you the 29 winning photos that are impressive and you can see here, but among them there is a particularly spectacular one that we want to share with you: the image of a baby born inside the intact amniotic sac .
The photograph is the winner in the “Details” category and its author is the birth photographer Jana Brasil from JanaBrasil Fotografia (Brazil), who has managed to capture the exact moment in which the baby is born without knowing that it has been born, even within the amniotic sac, as it was inside the mother’s womb.
Veiled or blanket delivery
The title of the photo is ” Baby Noah Blanket”, as this rare way of being born is called that. Most often, the amniotic sac ruptures during labor, when waters break, but when the baby is born inside it, it is known as veiled or blanket birth.
Children who come into the world in this way, approximately one in every 80 thousand babies, are known as enmantillados, with a cloak, veil or shawl , for the cloak or veil that covers the baby.
It can happen in a vaginal delivery or in a cesarean delivery, as has been this case.
