"Maintaining the tradition": International Week of Breeding in Arms 2019

As every year since 2008, during October the International Week of Raising in Arms is celebrated, a series of days dedicated to remembering the importance of carrying babies and remembering that custom of raising in arms, the best place for them.

The motto of this year is “Maintaining the tradition” and with it a new logo is launched that seeks to highlight the union that is made around the world for this celebration and to give continuity to the beautiful ancestral act of carrying and carrying to our kids.

Unlike other years in which specific dates were given to celebrate it, this year it has been decided to leave the options a little more open so that the different communities around the world celebrate it on the date that best suits them and the party extends even further. more.

Therefore, during the first 14 days of October, you can be part of this beautiful celebration , which seeks to continue promoting carrying and the wonderful benefits it offers both for the baby and for mothers and fathers.

The motto “Maintaining the tradition” refers to those customs that are passed from generation to generation , from neighbor to neighbor, from friend to friend, or with the support of porting advisers and other professionals or experts who promote breeding in arms.

As for this year’s logo, it is intended that it be the logo that is permanently adopted and that the slogan only be changed according to the focus or theme that is given each year.

In this new logo, you can see the silhouettes of five people carrying their babies within a circle that unites them, referring to the global union that takes place during this celebration.

The five silhouettes have their hands joined to form hearts within another smaller circle , to highlight the powerful union they have when sharing and promoting nurturing in arms. Around that illustration it reads “International Week of Raising in Arms”.

Why is it important to celebrate parenting?

Over the years, various products have emerged with the intention of facilitating parenting, such as cribs and strollers, among others. And although we do not deny that they are very useful products and that many of us have used, the truth is that none of them provide the benefits that parenting gives to a baby.

Carrying, for example, helps to give the baby the closeness, security, attachment and human warmth that it so much needs during those first months and years of life, and that are essential for its development.

For this reason, and because arms are the only thing they need, let’s continue to maintain the tradition of raising in arms , let’s continue celebrating and giving our children the best place to be: close to us.

Touch is a very powerful connection with your baby: this is how you can...

As mothers - especially when we are first-timers - and we want to do what is best for the baby, we simply have to go with our instincts. I say this as someone who started motherhood having read a lot about it, but to whom time has taught precisely that.

One of the most transcendental decisions that are made in the incipient role of father and mother, when the baby is still in the womb, is deciding the name of your son or daughter. Trying to imagine what it will be like, discarding all those that you don't like or that remind you of someone you don't like (because let's not deny it, it's something we all do), and reaching consensus is not an easy job.
