Visiting the Ferrari factory in Maranello is always special, but if you do it as an official driver of the Formula 1 team you have some other privilege, as happens to Carlos Sainz, who has almost unlimited access to all areas of the Italian giant.
The Spaniard is a great fan of four wheels, beyond his status as a driver in the highest category of motorsports, since all types of vehicles are welcome for him. For this reason, every time he goes to the headquarters of the most successful team in history, he loves going to a room where Ferrari lovingly keeps many relics.
Through a short video, Sainz explained to us what he considered “his favorite place” in the Italian town, where the Prancing Horse has his so-called Ferrari Clienti , the Formula 1 single-seaters of different owners around the world.
“Now we are in probably my favorite place, or one of the most in Ferrari,” said the Madrid native as he went down the stairs that led to all the cars in red. “This building is new, barely a year old.”
“Some people don’t know it, but here they have all the Ferraris from many, many years, real Formula 1 cars and other types of cars that can be driven around and ripped out of this place if they need to,” Sainz continued.
“Ferrari is in charge of helping you to make these vehicles work, with the mechanics and all the necessary people, so that you can get on it if you have one of these beauties and go to a circuit with your own Formula 1”, assured the winner of the Grand Great Britain Award.
“Incredible! There are quite a few,” he said before taking a general shot of the entire room in which historic cars such as Michael Schumacher’s last single-seater with the Maranello team, the F248 F1 from the 2006 season, could be seen.
However, not only was the Kaiser ‘s car there, but others from the golden age of the early 2000s and others from Fernando Alonso could also be seen, such as the 2013 F138 , the last vehicle with which the Asturian climbed to the top of the podium in a Formula 1 race, the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix.
