The 23-year-old driver was taken to the medical center for a check-up, but was released shortly after, after being declared fully fit by circuit staff, with no injuries.
George Russell and Williams driver Alex Albon also retired from the race following first corner crashes. The Thai was taken to hospital for further tests after he was rammed by several drivers following a touch from Sebastian Vettel. Fortunately, already on Sunday night he was discharged from the hospital.
For his part, Zhou thanked the Halo, the device introduced in Formula 1 in 2018 and which initially, when it was announced in 2017, received not only criticism but also ridicule for its aesthetics.
