Formula 1 returns to the place where the highest category of motorsport was born on May 13, 1950, Silverstone. On the weekend of July 1 to 3, the fastest single-seaters in the world will venture into the almost six kilometers of British track to meet the winner of the tenth round of the 2022 course, the British Grand Prix.
The teams have ensured that they will be carrying many upgrades and parts for their cars, so Friday free practice will be key to testing the modifications, but the weather is likely to do the teams a disservice.
The time for the F1 British Grand Prix in 2022
| Day | Weather | Maximum and minimum temperatures | Possibility of rain | winds |
| Friday July 1 | Rain | 20th – 9th | 40% | Maximum of 19 km/h |
| Saturday July 2 | Foggy | 22° – 10º | twenty% | Maximum of 18 km/h |
| Sunday July 3 | Foggy | 23rd – 11th | 10% | Maximum of 11 km/h |
On the first day of the 2022 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, the drivers will find a forecast of 40% rain, so if the drops make an appearance during Friday, July 1, the teams will have to extrapolate the data they obtain to check how their cars perform with the improvements introduced in the dry.
However, it will be the third free practice session on Saturday, July 2, which will presumably have more activity on the track if the weather forecasts are met, since only 20% rain options are expected with better temperatures than Friday, with a maximum of 22ºC at a time close to that of the evening classification.
On race day, Sunday July 3, Formula 1 can be played without any weather setbacks, since only a few small clouds will threaten to descend on Silverstone with a probability of 10% , although the drivers will have to count on the factor of wind, which will reach 11 km/h, and which can cause track exits if they run into a gust against them, as happened in Spain with Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen.
