Espargaró leads a new one-two for Aprilia in FP2 in Barcelona

The pilot born five kilometers from the circuit, Aleix Espargaró, led the second free practice session of the Catalan Grand Prix, which is being held this weekend in Montmeló. Aleix lowered the time to 1:39.402, beating his teammate, Maverick Viñales, who set a very fast lap to finally close a lap in 1:39.705 and complete the 1-2 win for Noale.

The two Aprilia riders, like the rest of the grid, fitted a new soft rear tire at the last minute, which gave a plus of speed for Enea Bastianini to finish third, ahead of Pecco Bagnaia, Jorge Martín and Jack Miller, all of them at the handlebars of a Ducati, which took four of the six fastest times, behind Aprilia.

Fabio Quartararo, on the Yamaha, was 7th ahead of Alex Rins, who was fastest in the morning with a time that did not improve in the afternoon, completing the top 10 by Johann Zarco and Franco Morbidelli.

11th was Pol Espargaró, the first provisionally out of Q2, ahead of Bradl Binder, Takaaki Nakagami and Marco Bezzecchi. Joan Mir finished 17th, far behind, with Miguel Oliveira 19th and Raúl Fernández, who had been 12th in the morning, finishing 24th.
