Marc Márquez countdown begins

Marc Márquez was diagnosed with a new case of diplopia after the spectacular fall in the warm up of the Indonesian Grand Prix. The diagnosis of the double vision problem was added to that of the traumatic brain injury that was detected on the same Sunday, so the Cervera rider was left without being “fit” to be able to get on the motorcycle in Mandalika.

The driver from Cervera will not be able to compete this weekend in Argentina, but that does not mean that the rider from Lleida has sat idly by.

At the moment, the medical check-ups that the Cervera rider has undergone are favorable, but the doctors explain that the recovery is not yet complete and Márquez will have to be diligent with her.

The biggest question that remains is whether Márquez will be ready to compete in Austin, one of his talismanic circuits, as he has won on seven of his eight visits to the track. The American appointment is only a week after Argentina, which continues to put their presence in doubt.

Márquez, already a regular in diplopia, did not want to miss a moment to begin his recovery and has shared his first steps on social networks.

“Coordination exercises, we continue to recover,” the Cervera pilot wrote on his Instagram, as an accompaniment to a photo in which he is seen juggling three tennis balls.

His new case of double vision has once again triggered speculation about when he will return to the circuits. For the moment, the only thing that Honda has confirmed is that it will not participate in the Argentine round, where it will be replaced by Stefan Bradl, the Japanese brand’s test driver.

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna, wanted to give his opinion on the injury and assured that this case of diplopia is “less serious than the one he suffered at the end of the 2021 season” and hopes that it will allow him to get back on the bike as soon as possible. .

Márquez himself had already left reassuring words on his social networks when announcing his injury. He stated that “fortunately it is less serious than the injury I had last year. But now it’s time to rest and wait to see how it evolves” on Twitter, which, added to the photograph he shared today, suggests that he will soon return to world.
