The MotoGP race held in Misano this Sunday was one of the most eventful of the season, registering up to eight falls and one abandonment, for which only 15 riders crossed the finish line and all of them scored, including Takaaki Nakagami , who went to the ground with 18 laps to go, but managed to lift his Honda to cross the finish line last.
The first to fall were Joan Mir and Danilo Petrucci , on the third lap, when they were fighting for very far back positions. One lap later Jack Miller crashed, running second and into turn 15, where he lost his front end and his chances of getting a podium.
In the ninth lap it was Nakagami who fell, overtaking his teammate Alex Márquez in the fight for 12th position, despite the fact that the Japanese picked up the bike and rejoined the race in 20th place. The one who could not continue on that same turn was Márquez, with a technical problem on the motorcycle and the message on his display of ‘stop engine’, which forced him to stop immediately and park his machine on the wall, ending the LCR-Honda weekend. The next to crash were Iker Lecuona , on lap 11, and Jorge Martín , on lap 13.

All those falls and incidents were duly documented and seen live or after a replay on the international television signal, as was also seen with less than five laps to go, how Pecco Bagnaia went down at turn 15 when He was leading the race, at the same point where Miller had crashed, ending the options of leaving the championship open and serving the title to Fabio Quartararo on a plate.
What was not seen on television was that moments before that fall, on the same lap and in the previous curve, the 14th, Miguel Oliveira went down. In fact, for a few seconds, in the superimposed classification on television, Oliveira appeared as third classified, behind Marc Márquez and Pol Espargaró , something that never happened since he fell moments before Pecco.
But the Ducati’s accident made Fabio automatically the champion and when he realized it, he missed the detail of the Portuguese KTM’s crash, which disappeared as if by magic.
“I lost the front end at turn 14, it was a bit difficult with a full tank at the beginning. It’s a shame not to have been able to transform a good weekend into a good result”, Oliveira lamented at the end of the day.
“Racing can be seen as a glass half full or glass half empty, and I think we have every reason to see this as a glass half full. This line needs to be moved to Portimao ,” he added.
In addition to going unnoticed, the KTM rider’s crash deprived him of a great opportunity to get on the podium and straighten out a very gray final part of the season for Miguel, suffering from the injury he suffered in his crash in Austria .
“I think that with all the accidents that there were, we could have scratched a podium, but these are races, and many times you stay with this feeling”, settled the man from Pragal .
