MotoGP: Mir, sanctioned for his incident with Miller in Austin

The Spaniard and the Australian, who have had it out on more than one occasion, came close to the last lap, with Miller just ahead of Mir. Entering a hairpin to the left, the defending champion went a bit wide and came into contact with the rear of his rival’s Desmosedici, sending him off the track.

After crossing the finish line, Miller went directly to the area where Mir had stopped and even grabbed him by the helmet, asking for explanations while the Spaniard apologized, joining the palms of both hands.

At the same time, Race Direction reported that the stewards were analyzing what had happened, and a few minutes later they certified Mir’s sanction.

It is worth remembering that these two drivers starred in one of the most chilling moments of the Doha Grand Prix , the second stop on the calendar, in which both almost fell in the middle of the straight. Shortly after the #36 overtook the #43 in a borderline overtake, Miller deliberately went to corner him, off the track, when they were both running parallel.

Despite the fact that nothing happened and that no one was sanctioned, Race Direction called them at the next appointment (Portimão) and sat them down to ask them for sanity.
