Lecuona: "I don't understand why the KTMs are so bad"

Iker Lecuona suffered a hard fall on Friday when he went flying over his bike in wet conditions, and this Saturday he fell twice more looking for limits that are being complicated for the KTM this weekend in Misano.

In the combined times of the first three free practices, Lecuona was the best of the mark (17th) but his teammates Miguel Oliveira (22nd), Brad Binder (23rd) and Danilo Petrucci (24th) finished the last three, even behind the wild card and the reappeared Andrea Dovizioso.

“I don’t know how to say what is happening. In the end we go very to the limit. I had a crash this morning without doing anything special, I even entered the corner with less brake than usual. It is being very difficult for the KTMs to be fast. We seek the limit and we fall easily. It’s hard to get along. But the bike is the same, the tires are the same, we are suffering more than expected. We will have to improve for tomorrow, but if you don’t improve during training it will be difficult to do it on Sunday”, Lecuona assessed without finding answers.

According to the Valencian pilot, where the RC16 lose the most is in the twisty area of the circuit, the slowest.

“Where we lose the most is in the slow zone, T1 and T4. I don’t know the reasons. The bike pushes a bit from the front and we are looking for solutions. We have worked well, but not enough to be able to be further ahead”, settled the runner, who claimed to be fine despite the fall on Friday in which he injured his ankles.
