Misano.- In the training that defined the cut between those who will go directly to the second qualifying screen (Q2) and those who will have to go through the first. Half of the ten directly classified riders ride Ducati , a test of the competitiveness of the Borgo Panigale bikes at the Marco Simoncelli circuit.
Aside from that, the surprises were given by Maverick Viñales , who went straight to Q2 with the fifth fastest time, and Marc Márquez , who will play the pass for the sixth time so far this year. The Honda rider finished with the 14th fastest lap and was unable to complete his final fastest lap attempt when he went down in a right-hander, his 19th crash of the season.
Bagnaia , meanwhile, beat Fabio Quartararo , the only Yamaha rider in the top ten, by less than half a tenth, and Jack Miller (third), his neighbor in the red bikes’ official workshop, by a tenth and a half.
Fourth place went to Joan Mir , the current champion, who beat Viñales by 64 thousandths. Sixth place went to Alex Rins; the seventh, for Johann Zarco and the eighth for Pol Espargaró , the only Honda representative who already has a guaranteed presence in Q2.
Jorge Martín (ninth) and Michelle Pirro, tenth, closed a top ten from which they were left out, in addition to Márquez, Valentino Rossi (18th) and Andrea Dovizioso (20th)
