The Japanese Honda rider was 36 thousandths ahead of Maverick Viñales , who was unable to finish training after suffering a high-speed crash at turn 7 in the final moments. Luckily, the Yamaha came out unharmed.
The third fastest was Franco Morbidelli , who was less than a tenth from the first and who finished ahead of Johann Zarco (fourth) the first Ducati rider in the table.
Fabio Quartararo , leader of the championship and main favorite to win in a few hours -starts from pole-, finished fifth, less than three tenths behind Nakagami.
The sixth best lap was given by Pol Espargaró , who beat Pecco Bagnaia (seventh) by 61 thousandths.
Marc Márquez (eighth), Joan Mir (ninth) and Valentino Rossi (tenth), closed a top ten in which no KTM rider entered, a circumstance that leads one to think that things will change a lot when the race starts, scheduled for 1:00 p.m., one hour earlier than usual.
